Community & Family Network Grants
The NEGC’s Community and Family Network (CFN) Grants are an outgrowth of the Innovative Project Awards. This program is designed to encourage the development of small, community-based projects that directly reach the needs of people with genetic conditions and their families while addressing the mission of the NEGC. The NEGC review team includes members of the project staff and the collaborative. Considerations for awards include 1) probability that the money spent will make a real impact and have a lasting benefit; 2) how well the request fits into a broader plan (how the project may continue after the grant award); and 3)need of the applicant organization. A CFN grant may be awarded to an applicant only once in a 12 month period. Any future funding is not guaranteed. CFN Grants, which are capped at $2,500, are awarded to non-profit organizations with a focus on one or more genetic conditions. Applications are considered for funding as they are received, and are reviewed until the available funds are disbursed. Click here to read about projects of past grant recipients. The current grant cycle runs from July 2011 through May, 2012, and is contingent upon NEGC’s continued funding from HRSA.
