Community and Family Network Grants

The NEGC's Community and Family Network Grants, an outgrowth of the Innovative Project Awards, was designed to encourage the development of small community-based projects that address the needs of people with genetic conditions and their families within the mission of the NEGC.

Community and Family Network (CFN) Grants may be awarded up to $2500, and applications may be submitted on an ongoing basis beginning 1/15/10 until 4/30/10.  Applications will be considered for funding as they are received and will be reviewed until all of the available funds have been disbursed. The NEGC review team, including members of the project staff and the collaborative, will consider things such as 1) likeliness for the money spent to make a real impact and have a lasting benefit; 2) where applicable, how well the request fits into a broader plan (let us know how you would continue the project after the grant award); 3) need of the organization or group who would be receiving the funds. A CFN grant may be awarded to an applicant no more than once in a 12 month period from the date of the award, and funding is not guaranteed.  This opportunity may continue into the next grant year depending on the NEGC receiving its own federal funding from Health Resource and Service Administration (HRSA).
